Alex joined the Long Duration Energy Storage Council in 2023 as Director of Policy and Partnerships. He leads the Council's engagement with partners and on policy development to support the deployment of LDES in the power, hydrogen and thermal sectors globally. Previously he was Head of Policy and Research at the International Hydropower Association and before that held a number of roles in the UK government’s energy department, including Head of Contracts for Difference policy, the UK’s flagship renewable energy deployment scheme, delivering auctions for offshore wind and other technologies.
