Carishma Gokhale-Welch

Partnership Development Manager,
National Renewable Energy Lab

Carishma Gokhale-Welch is the federal sector partnership development manager in NREL’s Strategic Partnerships Office, where she collaborates with a diverse group of federal agency partners on clean energy transition objectives. Prior to this role, Carishma’s work at the lab focused on clean energy planning and strategy for both the U.S. and emerging markets. She led complex, multi-stakeholder technical teams that provided place-based technical assistance to support low-income, energy burdened communities with energy transitions. In addition, she worked with diverse stakeholders to scale up and deploy advanced energy systems and clean energy transitions in Asia and North Africa. Before coming to NREL, Carishma oversaw activities ranging from strategic planning and building partnerships to mine reclamation and watershed management. Raised in India, she holds degrees from the University of Mumbai and Yale University.
