Mr Dinesh Kumar Ghimire is a retired Secretary of the Government of Nepal. He worked more than three and half years as the secretary(Energy) of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Government of Nepal. During his tenure as Energy Secretary, his contribution were majorly on private sector promotion, FDI friendly policy formulation for hydropower development, power trade with India and Bangladesh among others. Mr Ghimire led many bilateral negotiation on water and energy issues specially with India, Bangladesh and China. In addition to this, he was actively engaged in regional and sub regional forums like SAARC, BIMSTEC, BBIN, SASEC etc. Apart from executive role in the government service for almost 3 decades, Ghimire has aligned himself in academic line also and is currently teaching in Nepal’s various engineering colleges as expert faculty.
