Dirghayu Kumar Shrestha, Deputy Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority was born on 10th October, 1971 in the Kathmandu district of Nepal. He completed his B.E. (Electrical Engineering) in 1996 from India and M.Sc. (Information and Communication Engineering) in 2005 from Institute of Engineering Pulchowk Campus, Nepal. He joined Nepal Electricity Authority in November 1997 as an electrical engineer and started his carrier in system planning and operation. Previously, he has worked as chief in the field of distribution, transmission and generation in different states of the country. Presently, he is working as Deputy Managing Director of Transmission Directorate. His major responsibility as the Deputy Managing Director is to construct, monitor and supervise all the transmission line and substation projects throughout the country. He is also responsible for grid maintenance and system operation in order to supply reliability, meet electricity demand and power evacuation of generating stations to national grid.
