Farah Ahmed

Farah currently is the Cross-cutting Lead for USAID’S South Asia Regional Energy Partnership program (SAREP). In this role she leads the communication, gender and outreach activities for SAREP. In her career as a development professional spanning over 21+ years, she has worked on a diverse range of programs. From implementing rural livelihood projects at the grass root level in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal to having worked with international corporate foundations on project planning, strategy development, monitoring & evaluations, impact evaluations and fund raising, she has acquired extensive cross-sectoral expertise in sectors such as energy, water, agriculture, policy advocacy and knowledge management. She has previously worked on several programs integrating gender into mainstream programs, and developed women empowerment programs for the farm sector, micro finance and rural livelihood practices. She has significant experience in developing communication pitches, partnership development, facilitation and policy advocacy, which has been pivotal to her current role.
