Leena Srivastava
Former Deputy Director General of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA),
and Former Vice Chancellor of TERI School of Advanced Studies
Dr Leena Srivastava worked with TERI, India’s largest research institution on energy, resources and climate change, for over three decades with her last position being of Executive Director, TERI. In 2013, she moved to the TERI School of Advance Studies as its Vice Chancellor for nearly 7 years. She retired from full time engagements as Deputy Director General for Science of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), in Vienna, Austria where she served from November 2019 to July 2022. In her role, she provided interdisciplinary scientific leadership to the institute.
During her career, Dr. Srivastava served on several Government and UN Committees, Boards/Councils of international organisations, Corporate Boards and the IPCC. She continues to engage with a diversity of organizations in Board and Advisory positions. She is a columnist at Mint – a leading business newspaper in India.
She has a PhD in Energy Economics from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore.
