Lily joined the UNEP Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific in 2019 as the coordinator of the Cool Coalition, an official outcome of the Energy Transition Track of the UN Climate Action Summit. The Coalition is working with countries to simultaneously advance the just energy transition, strengthen resilience and food security, while driving down rising emissions through sustainable cooling. Previously Lily was in the UNEP Paris office where she developed and led the District Energy in Cities Initiative unlocking over $200 million in investments for efficient, renewable heating and cooling infrastructure. Over the last fifteen years, Lily has worked as a worked to advance the energy transition at REN21, Environmental Defense Fund, ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability and the German parliament- where she participated in the set-up and promotion of IRENA. She has authored energy publications, including UNEP 2015 ‘District Energy in Cities: Unlocking Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.”
