Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Energy

My name is Marewenuea Sunema Tierata,24 years of age representing Kiribati through its Government Agency known as Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Energy. I was born and raised in South Tarawa, the capital city of Kiribati, living with my husband and 1 daughter aged 6 years old. I first joined the Public Service in 2022 after graduating from the Fiji National University with a Bachelor of Health Services Management in 2021 attaining a Certificate of Excellence and Dean’s Honours in my study field. I have worked in a variety of AS roles for more than 2 years, starting off my career at the Ministry of Health and Medical Services working for 8 months as an Acting Assistant Secretary, and then joined the Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Energy (MISE) in June 2023 working as an Assistant Secretary on permanent basis. As an Assistant Secretary, my major responsibilities include executing the Ministry Administration related tasks,assisting in the following activities; - Allocation of resources -Monitoring of budget expenditure - General Ministry Administration - Assist with the development of the Ministry Strategic Plan in line with the Kiribati Development Plan and KV20 Plan and other Ministry Planning matters. - Implementing the National Conditions of Service consistently for all staff. - Assist the Ministry in the implementation of the HR framework and workforce plans.
