Shannon Christine Cowlin

Asian Development Bank (ADB)
Shannon Cowlin is a Principal Energy Specialist in the East Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank where she leads clean energy projects in Mongolia. She has previously worked in ADB’s South Asia and Southeast Asia departments and has led initiatives spanning renewable energy, energy efficiency, electric mobility, regional integration, and carbon capture and storage. Prior to joining ADB, she led bilateral and multilateral cooperation projects on clean energy at the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Her previous work focused the intersection of energy use, emissions, human health implications, and mitigation approaches. She has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering Science and a Master of Science in Environmental Health Sciences, both from the University of California at Berkeley.
