Mr. ‘Akauola is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Ministry of Meteorology, Energy, Information & Cybersecurity, Disaster Management, Environment, Communication, and Climate Change since September 2023. He is responsible for implementing government policies and decisions, and he is also leading and managing the administrative functions and operational activities of the Ministry. Prior to becoming the CEO for MEIDECC, he was worked up his professional career as the CEO for the Ministry of Public Enterprises, Director of Corporate Services for the Ministry of Infrastructure, Acting CEO for the Ministry of Transport, Acting CEO for Public Service Commission, Acting CEO for the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Acting CEO for Marine & Ports, and Deputy Secretary for the Ministry for Marine and Ports for more than 20 years. Mr. Akauola has attained a BA in Economics, Public Administration and Management, and an MA in Business Administration from the University of the South Pacific.
