"Prof Sukanya Das is the Professor and Dean of Research and Partnerships at TERI School of Advanced Studies in New Delhi. With over 18 years of experience in teaching and researching environmental economics, she is dedicated to using rigorous methods and tools to tackle complex environmental and social issues. Her expertise includes environmental valuation, choice experiments, auction mechanisms, pricing in the water and wastewater sector, waste management, quantification of health impacts of renewable energy, and developing suitable policy prescriptions. She has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals, authored books and reports, and presented at national and international conferences on these topics. Currently, she is involved in two ongoing funded research projects: SARASWATI 2.0, a four-year project jointly funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme under Grant Agreement 821427 and by the Department of Science and Technology (DST)/Department of Biotechnology (DBT), as well as the DST-SERB funded project on Monitoring Ecological Integrity and Its Impact on Local Communities in the Alaknanda River Basin. Additionally, she is working on consultancy projects related to the valuation of ecosystem services and waste management. She is highly regarded as an expert in her field, and her work is making a significant impact in addressing critical environmental and social challenges."
