Surya Kumar Sapkota is currently working as Director in Alternative Energy Promotion Centre, Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Nepal. He is a head of Planning and Monitoring Division. He did his master's degree in physics from Nepal, second masters' degree in Sustainable Energy from Germany and PhD in Energy and Environment from Korea University, South Korea. He has long experiences of more than 23 years in renewable energy policy including subsidy policy, planning, resource mobilization, climate change and carbon trading, gender mainstreaming and project designing.
