Mr. Sushil Chandra Tiwari (sushiltiwari01@gmail.com) is Secretary of Ministry of Energy Water Resources and Irrigation (MoEWRI), Government of Nepal. He graduated in Bachelors of Civil Engineering in 1992 from Tribhuvan University, Nepal and Master’s Degree in 2001 from ITC, Netherlands.
Professionally, he is Civil engineer with involvement in government services since 1993 serving infrastructure development offices, departments and ministries of the Government of Nepal with different positions including Engineer, Senior Divisional Engineer, Superintendent Engineer/Joint Secretary and Secretary.
As secretary of Government of Nepal since 2021, Mr. Tiwari served at National reconstruction Authority (reconstruction of 2015 earthquake affected infrastructure), National Vigilance Center (technical auditing of major infrastructure projects), Water and Energy Commission Secretariat (advisory role on policy, planning and programming on overall management of water resources and energy) and currently at Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation (Energy). Mr. Tiwari has professional experiences of more than 30 years in infrastructure planning, development and management including local/rural roads, environment/disaster management, water resources and irrigation, hydro-power and energy planning/transition.
