Tetsushi Sonobe is the Dean and CEO of the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), the Tokyo-based think tank of the Asian Development Bank.  He is also the vice president of the Japanese Association for Development Economics (JADE).  Before joining ADBI in 2020, he was vice president of the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Tokyo, and a professor of economics at GRIPS, Tokyo Metropolitan University, and the Foundation for Advanced Studies on International Development.
