Vinita has a Masters Degree in 'Natural Resources and Governance' from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Following her Masters, she worked with an NGO working with rural communities in India. She engaged in socio-ecological research and supported community-based participatory action research endeavors aimed at landscape restoration and also worked on creating knowledge material based on this work and related efforts. She has also freelanced for projects focusing on historical research and degradation of urban wetland areas. She has been working with cBalance since March 2020 and plays diverse roles - Besides supporting with research for a range of climate crisis battling projects, she has been primarily involved in coordinating, designing and facilitating community-based workshops and related engagements to support the co-creation and implementation of experimental thermal comfort solutions in marginalized urban settlements. She also supports with the writing, editing and designing of communications pieces such as articles, reports, and newsletters.
