Bio:

Stephanie Hay is a Principal Consultant and Networks & Innovation Team Lead for TNEI’s Scottish office in Glasgow. She has 11 years of experience in the power industry including a 4 year PhD on active network management and control of distribution networks and 7 years as a power system consultant. She has significant experience in electrical system studies, analysis and software packages. She is experienced in undertaking grid connection studies for network planning and impact assessments on networks ranging from large trans-continental transmission systems to small island networks. She also has vast experience in carrying out grid compliance assessments for onshore and offshore generation connections, and studying the wider impacts of renewable generation integration on wider network operation and control.

Stephanie also provides technical and market expertise on emerging technologies and delivering concept, innovation and strategy projects for large industry organisations. Examples of this include the production of technical papers for the IET in power system modeling requirements for future networks, the provision of the technical content to the Good Practice Guide for Active Network Management commissioned by the ENA, the management of a number of scoping studies for Scottish Enterprise, and more recently, the delivery of future functional requirement analysis of the GB power system for the Energy Systems Catapult.
