Bio:
Mr. Dreessen is a globally-recognized energy efficiency finance and ESCO expert with over 35 years of experience in developing, financing and implementing savings-based energy efficiency projects at large industrial, commercial and institutional facilities. He formed one of the first US ESCOs in 1981, has owned and operated ESCOs in 10 different countries and developed energy efficiency projects in over 25 countries.
Mr. Dreessen’s extensive project-based finance expertise has resulted in his creation of several innovative market-based financing structures that were "firsts" in many developing countries. They include, during his recent work in Indonesia: i) project-based loans, ii) savings guarantees, iii) expanded credit risk coverage and iv) use of Special Purpose Entities as intermediaries to aggregate energy efficiency projects for accessing equity and debt.
Mr. Dreessen is the immediate Past Chair of Efficiency Valuation Organization (EVO), has been actively involved and served on the Board of the following other nonprofit organizations: past President of US National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO) and retired 14-year Board member of the Alliance to Save Energy Alliance to Save Energy. He holds a BBA in Accounting, a MBA in General Business, and a Certified Public Accountant certificate.
