Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories
Bio:
Tim Watkins graduated with an MSA from Central Michigan in Leadership in 2010 and at the top of his class in a masters level Telecommunications and Systems Engineer Course from Fort Gordon in 2004. (SEL) as an Application Engineer in 2013. He was recently promoted to Lead Application Engineer in 2017. His background includes building communication networks in austere environments for combat operations and securing these systems. He is currently building SEL products in a defendable system to assess against several major security frameworks such as Department of Defense Risk Management Framework, NIST Cyber Security Framework, NERC CIP, and many international standards. He is also integrating SEL's Operational Technology Software Defined Networking products (SEL-2740S and SEL-5056) with System Information and Event Monitoring Systems and Intrusion Detection Systems. Tim is focussed on solutions that allow customers to have greater visibility and continuously monitor their control systems from a cyber perspective.
