Deep Dive Workshop
Challenges towards Net-Zero in Asia and the Role of Transition Finance
Organized by: Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan (METI)
Wednesday, 5 June 2024
4:00 - 5:30 p.m. (GMT +8) | Auditorium Hall 3
To achieve net zero, Asian countries are facing many challenges such as burgeoning energy demand and uneven distribution of renewable energy. Transition finance, a new financing approach, will play a key role in accelerating the transition to clean energy and achieving net zero in Asia. But financial institutions must answer the complex question, “what can be considered a fair and orderly transition to simultaneously achieve economic growth, energy security and decarbonization?”
