Annika Seiler

Principal Energy Specialist,
Asian Development Bank

Annika Seiler is a Principal Energy Specialist in the Energy Transition Team at the Asian Development Bank (ADB). She co-leads a bank-wide initiative to support the development of resilient, responsible, and sustainable critical minerals and clean energy technology supply chains across developing Asia and the Pacific. She also co-leads a joint program between ADB and the World Economic Forum that promotes data-driven policymaking to accelerate energy transition readiness in ADB’s developing member countries. Prior to joining the Energy Transition Team, Ms. Seiler was a Policy Fellow at the Center for Global Development, where she conducted research on Just Energy Transition Partnerships and the decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors. She also served as Senior Advisor to ADB’s Vice President for Finance and Risk Management. With more than 20 years of experience, Ms. Seiler has delivered clean energy transition projects across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, working with international organizations and the private sector. She holds a Master's degree in Economics and Chinese Studies from the Free University of Berlin and has completed executive certificates in energy and climate policymaking from Harvard University and University of Oxford.
