Bekhruz Mirzayev

Bekhruz Mirzayev is the Head of the Department of Environmental Diplomacy and Green Economy Projects at the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. With a strong background in renewable energy, green economy development, and carbon market coordination, he has held senior roles in both the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Economy and Finance. He plays a key role in national and international low-carbon initiatives, coordinating with partners such as Japan, Korea, ADB, GIZ, and the World Bank on projects like the Joint Credit Mechanism (JCM), iCRAFTY, and MRV system development. Bekhruz holds a master’s degree from D.I. Mendeleev Russian Chemical-Technological University and a bachelor’s in industrial economy from the Tashkent University of Chemical Technologies, and is currently pursuing a PhD in green economy transition. A published researcher and certified expert in sustainable investment and energy management, he also lectures on green growth, ESG, and carbon trading mechanisms.
