Bikash UpretyEnergy Specialist, GIZ NepalBikash Uprety is an energy specialist with over a decade of experience in advancing clean energy access, energy efficiency, and climate-resilient development in Nepal and the South Asian region. He currently works with the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Programme – Green Recovery and Empowerment with Energy in Nepal (REEEP-GREEN), where he supports national and local governments in shaping energy policy, implementing decentralized renewable energy solutions and energy efficiency measures as well as promoting sustainable energy planning.At REEEP-GREEN, Bikash leads and contributes to strategic initiatives including the drafting of Nepal’s National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP), development of the Standards and Labelling roadmap, and review of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (REEE) Bill. He also supports the design of renewable energy subsidy guidelines for local governments and facilitates knowledge exchange under South-South and Triangular Cooperation platforms.Bikash is actively involved in promoting digital innovation, and climate finance readiness through his role as focal person for International Climate Initiatives (IKI) Small Grants in Nepal. His interdisciplinary approach combines technical, policy, and programmatic expertise to foster inclusive and impactful clean energy transitions.
