Fatiaki Gibson

Fatiaki Amoe Gibson, a seasoned engineer and executive, currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Energy Fiji Limited (EFL), appointed in April 2025. With a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Auckland and an MBA from the University of the South Pacific, he brings over three decades of experience in energy infrastructure, project development, and utility leadership. His career includes leading roles in the successful implementation of major renewable energy projects such as the Nadarivatu Hydro Project, Brenwe Hydro in Vanuatu, and the 35MW Kinoya HFO Power Plant. He has worked with international institutions including the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank, supporting climate finance and clean energy programs across the Pacific. Notably, he played a key role in securing USD 31.5 million from the Climate Investment Fund for Fiji's Renewable Energy Integration plan. His extensive leadership within EFL also includes appointments to its Board and several strategic subcommittees. Recognized for driving business excellence, Gibson’s contributions have earned multiple awards, including the Fiji Business Excellence Prize. His work reflects a deep commitment to advancing energy access, sustainability, and resilience in the Pacific region.
