John Lok

Head of Cooperation,
Embassy of Canada

Mr Lok joined the Embassy of Canada in the Philippines as Head of Cooperation in 2021. Before joining the Embassy of Canada to the Philippines, John Lok held various positions at Global Affairs Canada, most recently Deputy Director of Bilateral Relations with Sri Lanka and Maldives. He previously worked on policy development (Feminist International Assistance Policy) and on Canada’s engagement at the United Nations (Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development) and the G20 (Development Working Group). He also served abroad as First Secretary (Development) and Vice Consul at the Office of the Canadian Embassy in La Paz, Bolivia. Prior to joining Global Affairs Canada, he held a number of operational and policy positions at the Canadian International Development Agency. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Simon Fraser University and a Master of Arts in Public Administration and Public Policy from Concordia University.
