Joseph Ernest Zveglich Jr.

Joseph E. Zveglich Jr. is the Deputy Director General of the Economic Research and Development Impact Department at the Asian Development Bank. In this role, he supports the Chief Economist and Director General in overseeing the department’s workplan, ensuring quality outputs, managing staff and resources, and advising on operations to meet the departmental goals. Previously as the Deputy Chief Economist, Mr. Zveglich set the research directions for the department, ensured research quality, and provided briefs to the ADB Board and Management on emerging economic issues. Mr. Zveglich has also served as Director of Macroeconomic Research at ADB’s Economic Research and Development Impact Department, Principal Planning and Policy Economist at ADB's Strategy and Policy Department, Senior Advisor to the President, and as Deputy Country Director at the ADB's Sri Lanka Resident Mission. He joined ADB in 1998. Before ADB, Mr. Zveglich worked as a Researcher and Instructor at the Harvard Institute for International Development as part of the team providing capacity building to government officials in macroeconomic policy and management. He was also a Visiting Instructor at the College of William and Mary.
