Ali began his professional career in 2008 at Hydro One Inc. in Toronto, where he served for nearly a decade in various roles from asset management, project management and regulatory affairs. During his time there, he contributed to the management, expansion, reliability and policy making of one of Canada’s largest electricity system.In 2017, he joined JCM Power as Country Director and has since played a key role in expanding the company’s footprint and influence across Asia. Throughout his career, Ali has developed deep expertise in project development, mergers and acquisitions, post-merger integration, and large-scale project execution. He has overseen multimillion-dollar budgets and led multidisciplinary teams comprising engineers, lawyers, bankers, and operations professionals.Ali has also held numerous leadership positions, including Chairman, board member and CEO of power companies across Asia and Africa. In these roles, he has provided strategic oversight and guidance to executive teams, helping organizations navigate complex challenges and unlock growth opportunities. Earlier in his career, he was actively involved in regulatory and technical standards development in North America, contributing to the work of the Northeast Power Coordinating Council (NPCC), the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
