Eng. Pirunthapan Yogathasan is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Jaffna. He holds a Bachelor of Science of Engineering in Computer Engineering from the University of Jaffna. He currently serves as the Secretary of the University of Jaffna Consultancy Team, which is actively engaged in the ADB-funded project titled “Artificial Intelligence Powered Microgrids to Enable a Futuristic and Reliable Distributed Renewable Energy System,” implemented in collaboration with Lanka Electricity Company (LECO). His research interests include Digitization, Automation, and Security, with a strong multidisciplinary focus on Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Explainable AI, Precision Agriculture, and Remote Sensing. He is dedicated to interdisciplinary and intradisciplinary research aimed at delivering scalable and resilient solutions to modern engineering and societal challenges.
