Pooja Sharma is the first Woman Country Director of Practical Action in Nepal. She leads the organization’s strategic direction and programs focused on climate resilience, clean energy, and climate-smart agriculture. An engineering graduate and with advanced degrees in Sociology and Anthropology, Pooja brings over 20 years of experience working with a wide range of organizations, including electricity consumers' associations, GIZ, and international NGOs.She is a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow in Energy Policy and Management from the University of Washington and a Distinguished Humphrey Fellow from Harvard University. A recognized energy expert, Pooja has deep expertise in community rural electrification, energy efficiency in enterprises, productive use of energy, and market development for clean cooking solutions.Pooja is actively engaged in national and international policy discussions, using insights and knowledge generated from the groundwork. Her passion lies in promoting women as key market actors along various supply chains. She enjoys traveling and finds great inspiration in seeing how digital innovation enhances her work and impact.
