She has expertise in stakeholder engagement, energy efficiency, resource management, and international project coordination, with a strong focus on multilevel governance, advocating for the long-term viability of initiatives. Rocío actively contributes to GRAPHITE, leading and supporting replication studies to strengthen a sustainable European supply chain for lithium-ion battery anodes, emphasizing responsible mining, battery recycling, and innovative ore upgrading. Her work particularly focuses on how European good practices can be replicated and adapted to other contexts, especially in the Global South, to support more sustainable and resilient industrial models. She is also engaged in Plastice, where she conducts comprehensive assessments to analyze the evolution of results and ensure compliance with environmental, social, and technical standards. Her experience includes working with the Global South through her role in the Integrated Development Program, an EU-funded initiative in Argentina, where she managed project planning, evaluation, and international relations. She has also worked on territorial surveys, spatial data infrastructure, and funding research for local governments, contributing to sustainable development strategies across different governance levels. Beyond her professional work, Rocío has published research on public policy evaluation and sustainability.
