Tron Andre Svanes

Tron Andre Svanes is an experienced energy specialist currently serving at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila, Philippines, where he oversees regional technical assistance for decarbonization of hard-to-abate industrial and maritime sectors. With over a decade of experience, he has worked on the energy transition through projects in renewable energy sectors like wind and solar, as well as hydrogen and thermal energy storage for industrial decarbonization. He is accomplished in guiding international collaborations, organizing knowledge events, and leading capacity-building efforts. He is adept in facilitating knowledge exchanges on topics such as policy formulation, technology, and financing mechanisms.Before joining ADB, Tron managed a grant program for renewable energy development in developing countries at Innovation Norway that significantly boosted private capital investment in solar and wind, and supported job creation. In the private sector he served as a Grants Manager successfully securing government funding for the development and commercialization of large thermal energy storage systems for industrial decarbonization. He also served six years as a project manager at Norwegian Energy Partners. Tron holds a degree in Business Administration from California Lutheran University.
