Jens Jaeger

Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE)
Jens is an accomplished renewable energy professional with extensive experience in private sector engagement and leading high-impact programmes across Asia-Pacific and Africa. At ARE, he leads policy and business development activities, overseeing a broad portfolio of initiatives focused on sustainable finance and investment mobilisation, as well as market development, technology promotion, and capacity building.
During his tenure at ARE, Jens has cultivated strategic partnerships with international partners including the European Union, GIZ, the World Bank Group, the African Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank, UN agencies, and national governments in Nigeria, the DRC, Uganda, and the Philippines. Over this period, ARE’s membership has grown exponentially, establishing the association as a major global player representing a combined industry turnover of €58 billion.
Jens leads a team of 10 professionals and represents the renewable electrification industry on several high-level business groups, advisory platforms, and steering committees, including the EU Global Gateway Business Advisory Group for Climate and Energy, the World Bank Energy Storage Partnership, the REN21 Steering Committee, the Coalition Linking Energy and Nature for Action (CLEANaction), and the Mini-Grid Partnership.
Prior to joining ARE, Jens held junior roles within the UN system and in political communications in the Danish Parliament, reflecting a longstanding commitment to international collaboration and sustainable development.
