Namita Vikas is an award-winning senior business leader and ex-banker, with over 34 years of diverse experience in sectors across banking, finance, and technology. She has served in several leadership positions across large corporations including India’s 4th largest private bank, where she was instrumental in launching several first-to-market green and sustainable, banking products, including India’s maiden green bond in 2015, three GSS+ Bond issuances, SDG linked products, blended finance structures, and credit enhancements, raising over USD $1 billion in capital from global MDBs, and DFIs. She has advised regulators including the Reserve Bank of India on India’s Green Finance Roadmap, SEBI on the Green Debt Securities Disclosure Framework, ICMA on Green & Social Bond Principles and other global regulators on GSS+ Frameworks.
An influential voice in sustainable finance and climate transition globally, she set up auctusESG Global in 2020 and has led over 36 projects with international governments, global financial institutions, regulators, UN agencies, MDBs, global DFIs across 21 geographies including Latin America, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, India, and Africa. These projects spanned across sustainable finance product development, climate risk management, natural capital financing, transition planning, ESG and climate-responsive fiscal and monetary policy development. auctusESG, is currently developing an innovative climate risk assessment technology platform for FIs in emerging markets. auctusESG Global is currently present in UK, India, South Africa, and North America.
Namita was recently recognised as the Sustainability Thought Leader of the Year in 2025, by a prominent UK-based Environmental Finance publication. She continues to be a member of several sustainable finance and climate transition committees, including the Finance Industry Advisory Board of the International Energy Agency, International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), and Climate Bonds Initiative.
Previously chaired UN Natural Capital Finance Alliance, was a three-term UNEP-FI Global Steering Committee member, and ICMA Green & Social Bond Principles Executive Committee. Been a member of India's Taskforces on Sustainable Finance at IFSCA, Ministry of Finance, and Bureau of Indian Standards.
