Paula Valencia is a manager at the Rocky Mountain Institute, advancing clean energy system, climate resilience, and sustainable development across Southeast Asia and the Global South. She currently supports coal-to-clean energy strategies, transition credit mechanisms, offshore wind development, and local government planning for methane reduction and energy resilience. Through RMI’s Third Derivative program, she also works with climate tech startups addressing decarbonization in hard-to-abate sectors such as cement, steel, and petrochemicals. Her background includes deep experience in stakeholder engagement, energy and climate policy, and multilateral coordination, with a strong track record of designing programs that align climate ambition with local priorities.
