Maximilian Heil

Mr. Maximilian Heil is a Regional Project Coordinator at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) within the project “Clean, Affordable and Secure Energy for Southeast Asia” (CASE). In this role, he coordinates regional initiatives that support Southeast Asia’s energy transition and regional power integration, including the ASEAN Power Grid Advancement Programme (APG-AP) and the Southeast Asia Information Platform for the Energy Transition (SIPET). His work focuses on strengthening multilateral energy cooperation, advancing regional policy dialogue, and supporting clean energy and power sector transformation across ASEAN. Mr. Heil joined GIZ in 2018, initially working on continental energy infrastructure and investment cooperation in Africa as liaison officer for the Africa–EU Energy Partnership, supporting high-level engagement with the African Union and the European Commission. Prior to joining GIZ, he worked in public affairs and EU policy advisory on energy, climate, and transport for Danish civil engineering companies. He holds a master’s degree in Business Economics and Development Studies, with academic experience in Denmark, Mexico, and Germany. His professional background combines expertise in international energy policy, regional cooperation, strategic communication, and project management in multilateral environments.
