Yewon Kim is a policy professional specializing in green energy transitions and climate innovation who previously served as a Green Energy and Livelihood Associate at UNDP Tajikistan. Her professional expertise is anchored in bridging the gap between technical data and actionable policy. She led the technical drafting of the "Enhancing Health and National Capacity with Solar Energy (ENHANCE)" project, an initiative designed to solarize health facilities in Tajikistan. With a unique multidisciplinary background, she holds a double bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations, and Information Technology. She holds an MA in Environment, Development, and Policy from the University of Sussex, where her research focused on "Cyclone-Resilient Offshore Wind Development," analyzing adaptation strategies and site selection to enhance renewable energy infrastructure resilience against extreme weather events. Previously, at the UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub, she supported climate resilience projects in the Mekong River Basin and contributed to AI-driven flood forecasting initiatives. A published researcher, she has analyzed the Green Climate Fund’s blended finance impact on renewable energy policy. Her technical proficiency includes Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) for environmental impact assessments. Her commitment to inclusive development is reflected in her experience as a youth delegate to COP 26, the P4G Seoul Pre-Summit, and the World Bank Group KGGTF’s 10th Anniversary Conference, where she advocated for policy-driven climate solutions.
