Jinlong Ma

Dr. Jinlong Ma is a Professor at Tianjin University, China, and serves as Vice President of the APEC Sustainable Energy Center (APSEC). In his leadership role at APSEC, Prof. Ma oversees strategic advisory and research initiatives, with a primary focus on advancing energy transition solutions across APEC economies. His career encompasses senior appointments throughout Asia and the Pacific, including positions at leading academic and research institutions, technical and advisory organizations, and international energy corporations. Dr. Ma’s expertise includes energy system planning, renewable energy integration, power sector development, electricity market analysis, energy conservation and efficiency, sustainable urban energy solutions, as well as carbon emission inventory and mitigation strategies.
He holds a PhD in Energy Economics from the University of Melbourne, an M.Eng. in Energy Technology and Planning from the Asian Institute of Technology, and a B.Eng. in Electric Engineering from North China University of Electric Power. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Energy, and a member of the International Association of Energy Economics and the IEEE.
