Sung Yoon

Sung Yoon is the CEO and Founder of ENVELOPS CO., LTD, a Korean climate-tech company developing AI-driven agrivoltaic systems across the Asia-Pacific. He holds a BS in Environmental Engineering from Virginia Tech and an MS in Technological Systems Management from SUNY Stony Brook. With over a decade of field experience in agrivoltaic development, he created SAMS (Smart Agrivoltaic Management System), a patented AI platform that dynamically optimizes solar panel angles, irrigation, and microclimate conditions to maximize both energy generation and crop yields on the same land. He is the lead developer of the GCF-KOICA Fiji Ovalau 4MWp Agrivoltaic + 5MWh BESS Project (GCF SAP016, USD 14.6M) — the first utility-scale agrivoltaic deployment in the Pacific Islands and designed multiple agrivoltaic projects in various countries. ENVELOPS operates Indonesia's first AI-driven dynamic agrivoltaic pilot at IPB University, Bogor, whose results were published in the peer-reviewed journal Agronomy (MDPI, 2026). Prior to founding ENVELOPS, he served as a research in the Korea Institute of S&T Evaluation and Planning (KISTEP).
