Maraida Santos Licerio has 20 years of experience in climate action supporting greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, reporting and verification in various capacities. She is currently a technical advisor of GIZ GmbH and the national coordinator for GIZ Proklima, its global cooling program. Her work has particular focus on the control of high global warming potential (GWP) fluorinated gases or F-gases with emerging environmental impacts as well as safety and health risks for industry and the public. Prior to GIZ, she was qualified as a GHG verifier auditing claims for emission reduction for both voluntary schemes and compliance mechanisms in various industries. She has masters degrees in environmental science and occupational health.
