Nikhil Kolsepatil is Program Coordinator, leading the energy and climate program at ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, South Asia. He has supported more than 30 city and provincial governments across South and Southeast Asia in advancing their energy and climate transitions. At ICLEI South Asia, Nikhil's work centres on the integration of climate action and sustainable energy into urban planning frameworks — helping cities translate ambition into structured roadmaps, technical studies, and ground-level pilot solutions. His expertise spans climate action planning, distributed renewable energy solutions, building energy efficiency, with a focus on enabling sustainable energy and climate transitions actionable and replicable at the city and sub-national scale. Through the Asia LEDS Partnership, Nikhil helps to support 15 countries on low-emission development strategies and action, while contributing to Communities of Practice on Renewable Energy and Building Energy Efficiency.
