Ugyen Thaye

Mr. Ugyen Thaye is the Chief Engineer of the Department of Energy, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Royal Government of Bhutan. He had been working as a Chief Engineer since 2019 in the Department.
He has Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from India, Post Graduate Diploma in Energy Studies and Masters in Renewable Energy from Murdoch University, Western Australia. Prior to joining as the Chief Engineer of the ERDD, he worked as the Chief Engineer in Planning and Coordination Division of the erstwhile Department of Hydropower and Power Systems. He also served as the Project Director for Sephu Solar Project - first utility scale solar project in the country.
