Daisuke Koike is a Group Manager of the Global Project Department in the Nuclear Energy Business Unit of IHI Corporation. IHI is a Japanese heavy-industry conglomerate with expertise in nuclear engineering and in the fabrication and installation of nuclear power plant (NPP) components, radioactive waste treatment facilities, and decommissioning. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the nuclear industry, including project management and engineering for maintenance of operating NPPs in Japan and for the supply of components to NPPs overseas. In recent years, he has focused on small modular reactor (SMR) projects, including technology development and project management activities. He holds a postgraduate degree in engineering.
