DaeKeun Shin is Deputy Director of the Electric Power Industry Policy Division at Korea's Ministry of Climate, Environment and Energy (MCEE), established in October 2025 to lead Korea's integrated response to climate change and energy transition. He oversees Korea's international energy cooperation initiatives, including partnership framework discussions with the Asian Development Bank and bilateral energy cooperation with the UAE and Egypt. He coordinates the Team Korea platform — bringing together KEPCO, KEA, KEEI, and KOTRA — to advance Korea's smart grid, battery energy storage, and AI-based grid modernization experience across Asia. He has represented MCEE at high-level energy forums and working groups, including ADB energy sector consultations and the Korea-UAE AI and Energy Infrastructure Task Force.
