Ishrat Shabnam, a civil engineer by education, throughout a career span of over 12 years, has been working on energy projects focusing investment promotions, innovative technology for energy efficiency and waste to energy. She has lead studies on decentralized affordable energy options, national energy access planning and financing for the off-grid poor. She is an expert on Participatory Market Systems Development (PMSD) and value chain development especially focusing climate smart technology. She has also lead the livelihood assessment study for project design under the largest climate fund GCF on behalf of UNDP and Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Bangladesh.
