Amanda Van den Dool

Amanda J. Van den Dool has led energy and economic growth activities for the U.S. Government for almost 20 years in a variety of domestic and overseas positions. Ms. Van den Dool joined USAID’s Regional Development Mission for Asia in 2019, previously serving in the Power Africa Coordinator’s office. Ms. Van den Dool has also served in USAID’s Policy Bureau, the Democracy and Governance office, and the Office of Education. In 2010, she was selected to represent the U.S. Government as a Mansfield Fellow, working in Japan after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. Prior to federal service, Ms. Van den Dool worked for several years as a community organizer and lobbyist. Amanda holds a bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She loves to travel with her husband and two young children.
