Eunjoo Park-Minc is the Chief Advisor and Head of Sustainable Finance at BDO Unibank, Inc., the largest banking institution in the Philippines. She strategically directs the bank's landmark US$ 15 billion Sustainable Finance portfolio. With over 25 years of distinguished expertise spanning commercial banking, academia, and international development, she is widely recognized as an expert on green finance deployment, climate transaction structuring, and ESG integration within the Philippine banking sector. Since joining BDO Unibank, she has led the institution's comprehensive sustainable finance journey. She established the pioneering BDO Sustainable Finance Framework, driving strategic institutional resilience by embedding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices directly into core business operations. Her leadership has transformed BDO into the undisputed market leader in renewable energy financing in the Philippines, capturing over 30 percent of the total national development share in this sector. A trailblazer in climate finance mobilization, she spearheaded BDO’s Sustainable Energy Finance Program in 2010 in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC). This initiative successfully unlocked US$ 3 billion in private sector investments across 71 utility-scale solar, wind, hydro, biomass, and geothermal projects—significantly reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and transforming the Philippine energy landscape. Furthermore, her leadership accelerated capital markets innovation across the region through the structuring of highly impactful sustainable financial instruments. She orchestrated the issuance of BDO’s historic inaugural Green Bond in 2018 and the country's first Blue Bond in 2022. Under her stewardship, BDO has issued five major sustainability bonds in the Philippines, aggregating US$ 4.8 billion. She possesses deep operational expertise in building effective distribution channels to deliver climate finance directly to local end-users. She navigated complex cross-border transactions with multilateral and bilateral agencies. Notable among these is her leadership in developing a US$ 50 million dedicated green project facility in partnership with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). Born in the Republic of Korea and a US national, she holds an MBA in International Business and Finance from The George Washington University (Washington, D.C.) and a Master of Science in Green Energy and Climate Finance from the Berlin School of Economics and Law (Germany). She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from Seoul National University. She is also a formally credentialed Green Finance Specialist and Certified Trainer from the Renewable Energy Academy (RENAC) in Berlin.
