Fatiaki Gibson

Fatiaki is an Energy Specialist Consultant with 34 years of experience in the development of energy sector projects. He has a post-graduate qualification of Masters in Business Administration and spent over 26 years in the Fiji Electricity Authority which is now Energy Fiji Limited before moving into consultancy. Fatiaki is currently working for the Government of Vanuatu and the Asian Development Bank as a Project Advisor in the Vanuatu Energy Access Program and is leading a team of experts from Stantec New Zealand who are the Design and Supervision Consultants. The project is now commissioned and operational on Malekula and 98% complete on the Espiritu Santo HV line. He also assisted in drafting - A Guide to Private Sector Investment in Renewable Electricity Generation in the Pacific, for International Finance Corporation through a consultancy. Fatiaki has also worked extensively within the EFL (formerly FEA) in various technical and development aspects and has a wide knowledge of the local utility, power development projects and plans and was appointed a Director to the EFL Board in April 2024.
