HK Yu is the Vice-President for Administration and Corporate Management at the Asian Development Bank, a position she assumed in February 2026. She oversees several core departments and offices across ADB, including budget and people management, corporate services, information technology, safeguards, procurement, and financial management. Before joining ADB, Ms. Yu served as Australia’s Ambassador to the Philippines, where she led a mission of more than 200 staff and managed a broad portfolio spanning strategic engagement, economic cooperation, defense, visas, consular affairs, and crisis response. During her tenure, Australia and the Philippines elevated bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership and launched a five-year development partnership plan. Previously, she was Minister and Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy in Tokyo, supporting diplomacy, security, and economic policy initiatives. She also held senior leadership positions within the Australian Government, including Head of the National Security and International Policy Group in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Ms. Yu played key roles in G20 policy coordination for both the Republic of Korea and Australia, leading negotiations on fiscal policy, financial regulation, structural reform, and infrastructure investment. Ms. Yu has more than two decades of experience in public policy, finance, taxation, and international economic cooperation. Her earlier career included senior roles in the Australian Treasury and the Australian Tax Office. She holds qualifications from the University of Oxford, Australian National University, University of New South Wales, Western Sydney University, and the University of Western Australia. Her leadership has been recognized through several honors, including the Order of Sikatuna from the Republic of the Philippines, the Public Service Medal from Australia, and the Order of Civil Merit from the Republic of Korea.
