John Altomonte is a climate, energy, and biodiversity expert. He is the Founder and CEO of SunFund, a Philippine startup expanding access to residential rooftop solar through zero-upfront financing and predictable monthly payments. He also advises companies and institutions on climate strategy, greenhouse gas accounting, transition planning, and sustainability reporting. Beyond the energy sector, John is active in biodiversity research and conservation. His work focuses on Philippine flora, protected areas, and nature-based solutions, with field research in areas such as the Pantabangan–Carranglan Watershed Forest Reserve. He is also involved in environmental governance and conservation through PlantVision, where he writes about ecology, plants, and culture.
