Prof. Lilantha Samaranayake is the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. He is a Professor in the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering. He has specialized in Distributed Control Systems and subsequently applied the same in a wide range of applications spanning from robotics & automation to renewable energy systems to precision agriculture. He has been serving in the ADB funded Artificial Intelligence-Powered Microgrids to Enable a Futuristic and Reliable Distributed Renewable Energy System in Sri Lanka. He is also a commission member of the Public Utilities in Sri Lanka (PUCSL), the electricity regulator of the country.
