M. Hasif Hasan is a Principal Analyst II at the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT), with extensive experience in technology management, strategic planning, and project execution. He specializes in technology management and commercialization, contributing to policy design, industry-academia collaboration, and technology roadmapping to support the development of Malaysia’s high-technology industry ecosystem. Prior to joining MIGHT, Hasif gained international and private-sector experience through his work with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) on multilateral technology cooperation and with PETRONAS on technology commercialization and intellectual property (IP) strategy. In these roles, he supported the translation of innovation into market-ready solutions and contributed to advancing technology-driven growth. At MIGHT, Hasif has led and supported high-impact national initiatives, including foresight studies and industry development blueprints spanning clean technology, energy, mobility, and advanced materials. He actively engages with government agencies, industry leaders, academic institutions, and international partners to advance innovation, talent development, and sustainable industrial growth. He is currently leading a national study on rare earth element (REE) technologies and talent development, supporting Malaysia’s strategic positioning within the global value chain.
